About Us
We are a Wiltshire based business ideally situated close to Swindon and its good road/rail links and on the doorstep to the Westcountry.
Having cycled the area as a keen amateur for over 25 years and being involved in the UK sportive scene more recently we are passionate about cycling and have a good idea of what cycle tourists expect for their pound.
On offer is a more challenging longer distance road tour similar in type to European based holidays but much closer to home and without the need to make additional travel arrangements including much higher costs.
We will cross some of Southern Englands best cycling terrain, including wherever possible notable landmarks, quiet market towns and beautiful rural villages.
Red Man Road Tours offers a choice of set routes covering prehistoric Wiltshire, King Arthurs Somerset to the west and Hardy’s Dorset in the south.
For this year our tours are weekends only and are either 2 day/3 day cycles with an extra night of accommodation. We like to call them “part-guided” as you will ride alone but you have the knowledge that there will be vehicle back up en-route and manned food/drink stops including first-aid provision if needed.
We aim wherever feasible to keep the majority of our routes to B or minor roads and keep the use of A roads to a minimum, so avoiding the worst of the busy summer traffic.
